this morning ely was eating her breakfast. well, not eating her breakfast and thus the reason for the post. she decided to play with her oatmeal, toys and books instead of eating so i warned her that i would take it away if she didn't eat. being the strong willed child she is, she continued to play so i took it away. of course she cried, but then she did something that i thought i was years away from. she went to her room and slammed her door! does she think she's 13? not that it's ok then either, but she's 3!! needless to say, we both need some cooling down time!

Wow! Those times can be trying, we're also dealing with Ruby wanting to play and eat. I guess playing is just too fun to stop for food, even her favs. Ruby also slams her door (much less now) when she's upset. We briefly considered taking the door off completely -- I mean she's 3, it's not like she needs privacy! Now she sleeps in there so we need he door, luckily the slamming has lessened, whew!
I had a melt down this morning because she drank her chocolate milk, then watched her show instead of eating the pancake. So school time came and she blew her top, but we still had to go, so she cried.
Thankfully no door slamming yet. Patience mom, we'll get through. I keep trying to tell my self that.
Time to give her the back of your hand.
